Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a European Project Consultant.

The European Project Consultant will be involved as a project assistant, in particular for collaborative research and innovation schemes, such as the EU Framework Programmes. He/she will assist the senior consultants in charge of the projects.

Projects are typically European collaborative projects related to technological development, in various sectors (energy, transport, security…) and involving several companies or R&D centres in Europe. The job duties include: administrative and financial management, direct contact and first level of assistance to the project partners, gathering updated information to monitor and report on the progress and the finance of the project, completing submission and reporting forms, assistance in organising events.  

This position will sometimes imply working under time pressure, to abide by deadlines imposed by customers and other stakeholders.


In order to be considered for this position, any successful candidates should:

  • Have a degree in European project management, or demonstrated knowledge and experience with the management of European-funded R&D and innovation (e.g. Framework Programmes FP7; H2020)
  • Be fluent in English and French
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate and work with both business people and academics
  • Be result-oriented and focused on project delivery and its quality
  • Be a proactive team player with a strong work ethos, demonstrating a practical mind and attention to detail
  • Show ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects in an international and fast-moving work environment
  • Have financial planning / budgeting skills
  • Have advanced knowledge of core Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

And preferably he/she will:

  • Have experience in the energy, transport, environment or security sectors and a technical understanding of the related technologies
  • Have a good knowledge of planning software (MS Project, Primavera, Open Workbench or others)
  • Be fluent in at least one other EU language in addition to French and English
  • Have qualified experience with public communication / event management, in particular related to science or innovation
